Healing in the Adirondacks : Medicine and Medical Practice
Label:
Norwegian painter Jonas Lie came to the Adirondacks in 1922 when his wife, dancer Inga Soutem, was diagnosed with tuberculosis. She was treated at the Trudeau Sanitarium in Saranac Lake. The Lies purchased a house on Park Avenue in the village, and although Inga died in 1925, Jonas remained fascinated with the Adirondacks and painted here frequently.
