The game of Pit was invented by psychic Edgar Cayce and first sold in 1904. The fast-paced game is based on the Chicogo Board of Trade, also called the "pit." Three to eight players bid for commodities such as barley, corn and wheat. This deck belonged to Clarence Petty, an outspoken advocate for conservation in the Adirondacks.
