Healing in the Adirondacks : Medicine and Medical Practice
Label:
Martin Koop and Betty Temming learned the art of jewelry-making as patients at the Trudeau Sanitorium in Saranac Lake. They married, and established the Temming Art Studio in the village after they were released from the hospital. Betty designed the jewelry and Martin made each piece by hand. In the 1950s and 1960s their id bracelets were popular with teenagers who exchanged them when going steady.
