In 2006, the Adirondack Experience paired six Adirondack rustic furniture makers with modernist and post-modern architects, challenging them to collaorate in the design and construction of a rustic piece with a modern aesthetic. Wayne Ignatuk worked with architect David Childs to create this desk. It features granite from Johns Brook, and the former logo of the museum, a guide carrying an overturned guideboat on a yoke.
