Rustic Furniture : Nature's Art
Label:
Stonemason Barry Gregson was building a fireplace when he made his first chair at the request of a friend in 1981. Although he called it "terrible, not much to look at or much to sit in," he turned to woodworking, and has made thousands of chairs since. Each takes 50 to 70 hours to make in his Schroon Lake studio. Gregson is passing on his skills to his children; together, they made this chair in 2007 at the museum.
