In late December, 1946, a Department of Conservation plane dropped a note to Noah John asking if he would participate in a sportsman's show in New York City the following February. After 35 years in Cold River, he had acheived a measure of fame. Rondeau stamped out "YES" in the snow, and was picked up by helicopter on his way to the city.
