Arthur V. Savage (1926-2012) spent his summers in Keene. After graduating from high school in 1944, he enlisted in the US Naval Reserve, and served in Japan during the post-war occupation. After the war, he became a lawyer with a strong interest in conservation and the Adirondacks, serving as a commissioner for the Adirondack Park Agency and on the board of the Association for the Protection of the Adirondacks. He was also a founding member of the Board of Trustees of the Adirondack Historical Association, parent organization of the Adirondack Experience.
