The Office of Civilian Defense (OCD) was responsible for maintaining morale and protecting the homefront. Local OCD boards coordinated blackout drills, appointed auxiliary police, and trained volunteers in fire suppression and to identify enemy aircraft. This poster reminded Adirondackers of the signals used in the event of an air attack.
