Adirondack Gardens : Cultivating the North Country
Label:
Vegetable gardening is enjoying a resurgence in popularity, and more gardeners are discovering heirloom varieties. The Earliana tomato, also called Spark's Earliana, is one of the oldest named commercial varieties of tomato still available. It was developed by George Sparks of Salem, NJ, and introduced commercially in 1900. As its name implies, it is early to produce fruit, taking 65 days to mature.

This seed packet, packaged for use in 1935, was found in the Fred Torrance home in Ausable Forks.
