Transparent Views : The Adirondacks in Watercolor
Label:
A graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, Patricia Reynolds (1934-2015) settled in Willsboro. Daughter of a commercial artist, she painted from the age of 11. She discovered watercolors in 1972, and for the next 15 years painted with little else. The natural scenery around her Adirondack home fed her creativity: "the North Country atmosphere is a constant source of new inspiration…the glorious mists with the mountain peaks appearing and fading again. I am chiefly a studio painter, retaining a vision and interpreting the atmosphere rather than the literal landscape."

In this watercolor, Reynolds captures wildflowers in an Adirondack meadow as they welcome a summer rain.
