Transparent Views : The Adirondacks in Watercolor
Label:
Adirondack artist Ray Jenkins (b. 1925) worked as an industrial designer, architectural designer, and commercial artist after receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. This view of the defunct mining facilities at Tahawus, near Newcomb, may have caught his eye because of his background. He was inspired by the glow of a cutting torch used by a solitary demolition worker, and began this painting of the industrial complex on site before completing it in his studio.
