Transparent Views : The Adirondacks in Watercolor
Label:
Some artists require solitude and quiet to focus on their work, but Robert T. Plumb (1933-1985), born and raised in Potsdam, preferred otherwise. A teacher at Norfork-Norwood School, he built a studio in the basement of his home in Hannawa Falls, but found it too quiet: "I paint between meals and pies on the kitchen counter, with the kids all around…I couldn't paint without confusion." Plumb's watercolors, however, are serene: "I enjoy winter, it's subtle. Quiet. I like the colors of winter."
