Transparent Views : The Adirondacks in Watercolor
Label:
Brandreth Park is the oldest family preserve in the Adirondack Park. It remains a beloved retreat for descendants of Dr. Benjamin Brandreth who purchased the Hamilton County property in 1851.

Born in New York City, Mark Potter (1929-1995) attended the Art Students' League and Yale University. One of his early mentors was painter George Grosz. Potter taught art at the Taft School, spending summers at his family's home in the Adirondacks. He painted this view of his cabin and studio at Brandreth during the early fall.
