Label:
The guideboat was a prized possession of local families and summer residents as well as professional guides. One reason for its popularity was its versatility. Not only was it useful for hauling household goods; as a fishing boat, the guideboat became a part of families' recreational activities.

This 1913 photo from a family album shows "Aunt Kittie, Mother, [and] Dad" fishing from a guideboat at Camp Lawrence on Fourth Lake.
