Label:
Neatly-trimmed, weed-free lawns were not common in the United States until well into the 20th century. The proprietor of the Edgewood in Rainbow Lake cultivated a vine for the porch and a variety of shrubs in the yeard, but the grass is unkempt by today's standards.
